Pensioners demand full pension to pre-2006 retirees | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 9: J&K Pensioners Association (JKPA) has demanded full pension to the pre-2006 retirees. According to press release, president of JKPA Jagdev Singh Bloreia has urged the Jammu and Kashmir UTadministration for releasing the pending payment to pre-2006 State Government employee who have retired after rendering less qualifying 33 years service. The Supreme Court of India in its directive has ordered that the retirees with less than 33 years of service and who have retired prior to 2006 should be paid full pension. This Apex Court decision has been implemented in respect of Central government employees as well in some other states across the country. It is noteworthy that this order has to be executed by the Jammu and Kashmir as well Ladakh UTs as expeditiously as possible. It has already been delayed inordinately, he said. "It may be pointed out that the Supreme Court in its judgment delivered during April, 2016 had said that the full entitlement to payment of full pension to all those who had rendered less qualifying service than 33 years. While all the Central Government, State Governments or Union Territories had been given the benefits due to the employees but the J&K government had so far their dues to which they were entitled under the Supreme Court orders. It may, however, be mentioned that the IAS officers working in the J&K were paid this enhanced pension but the other pre-2006 retirees were left high and dry", the press statement reads.
