SAD (Badal) holds meeting | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 9: A meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) was today held at head office Jammu in which several issues confronting the community were discussed. The recent statement of the Govt. on delimitation was viewed seriously as Party has been advocating since long that out of 24 Assembly seats kept reserved for the POK nearly 8 seats should be de-freeze so that the population who has migrated at the time of partition could represent themselves in the state legislature, the speakers opined. It is once again stressed up on the JK Union Territory dispensation to consider this demand of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) on priority and defreeze minimum eight seats for the displaced people settled in UT of J&K who can elect their representative so that their problems and long pending issues are highlighted at proper forum for their ultimate redressel. It was also impressed on the Govt., to safe guard the land rights and Govt. Jobs for the resident of the UT and necessary notifications may be issued. They also criticized the Nankana Sahib episode. |
