leh, May 23: Three more persons, all residents of Kargil, tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active infected cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh to four. Meanwhile, 43 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals after fully recovering. “One student, who returned from Delhi tested positive for the dreaded on Saturday,” Ladakh UT spokesperson Rigzin Samphel said. He said the student, who is a resident Kargil, has been shifted to isolation ward in a hospital. "The student had stayed in Jammu while returning to the UT," he added. “Two Iran returnees, residents of Kargil, tested positive for the infection on Friday,” he said, adding the duo was already in institutional quarantine. “They have been shifted to isolation ward in a hospital. Giving details, he said the total 47 people tested positive in the Union Territory. Of these, he said 43 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while there are still four active positive cases in Ladakh. “Leh has one active COVID-19 patients while Kargil has three,” he added. The detection of fresh cases in the UT comes days after Ladakh was declared Covonavirus free. After remaining COVID-19 free for few days, a fresh case was detected in Leh on Wednesday.
