Alleged irregularities in appointments, LG’s Sectt seeks report from VC CLUJ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 23: Lieutenant Governor’s secretariat has sought report from the Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu into alleged irregularities and favouritism in recruitment of various posts of non-teaching staff. According to the letter written by the LG’s secretariat, it has been asked to the VC to submit report in 12 days. “Complaint against the merit lists for the various posts in the clusters University, Jammu without following the recruitment norms and criteria thereof. This has reference to the enclosed complaint received by this secretariat through email, dated 11/05/2020 regarding the matter”, copy of letter no LGS/2/CLU/2020/4120, dated 14 May, 2020 read. The letter signed by Under Secretary Ajay Bharti further read, “In this context, I’m desired to request you to kindly furnish your comments in the matter, to this Secretariat by 26/05/2020.” It is pertinent to mention here that Early Times recently carried a story regarding re-employment of retired officials of University of Jammu and alleged nepotism in the recruitment process. “We hope the LG’s Secretariat will take the matter to its logical conclusion and like University of Jammu, the CLUJ will not be turned as hub of nepotism and favouritism at the cost of deserving candidates, and future recruitment will be made in a transparent manner”, they said, adding that the LG should also reopen the overlooked scandals of JU as well. |
