Rs 1.59 lakh fine imposed on 23 erring business units | | | EARly Times Report
RAJOURI, Mar 25: The court of Adjudicating officer, Rajouri (Additional Deputy Commissioner), today imposed a fine of Rs 1.59 lakh on 23 erring food business operators for not following the prescribed norms under Food Safety and Standard Act. A team of officials constituted on the directions of DDC Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan inspected various outlets in the district wherein they found substandard services and consumables in the unhygienic condition being provided to the people. Consequently, the erring traders were booked and summoned before the ADC who is also the Adjudicating officer, imposed a fine under various sections of the Food Safety & Standard Act. The FBOs have been warned to desist from such practices and follow all parameters under scheduled 4 and others, failing which the penalty will be doubled in the repeated offence. It has been made clear that such sample testing of various consumables shall continue so that hygienic and pure edibles and products of the best quality remain available in the market for the public of District Rajouri. |
