NC ends 'work from home' excuse! | Leaders asked to attend party activities or face music | | Early Times Report srinagar, Mar 25: In a bid to "test the loyalty" of its leaders, the National Conference has asked them to attend all the events of the party in person or be ready to face music. Sources said some of the Member Parliaments from the party have also been "pulled up" by the leadership for not having acted properly in the interest of the NC. Sources said since the abrogation of the so-called special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, some of the senior leaders of the party had been "staying away from the NC activities on one pretext or the other." Sources said the party has gone into "panic mode" since the day Bashrat Bukhari left the party. Sources said he had remained absent from party activities since the abrogation of the special status by making excuses. Sources said another senior leader of the party also had been staying away from the party meetings by making excuses in the wake of the pandemic. Sources he was recently directed to attend all the party events including rallies and that he had to rush to south Kashmir to join the leadership. Sources said the NC leadership had received inputs that some of the leaders who had been staying away "on the excuse of Covid19" had actually been in touch with some other parties also. Sources said such leaders had sought exemption to "work from home" in the wake of Covid19. "But now the party has ended 'work from home' culture so that nobody can bluff the party," said a source. It is pertinent to mention that some of the leaders close to party, President, Omar Abdullah had been staying away even from party meetings held at Nawa E Subh. Sources said the party has started to prepare performance reports of its leaders. "This is why some of the NC MPs are busy issuing statements of so called public concern only to show their performance," said a politician. |
