I was forced to sign statement, claims Mehbooba | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 25: Nearly five-hour after coming out of the questioning, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti claimed that she was forced to sign a statement despite her reluctance. "Finally despite my reluctance, I was forced to sign a statement which is evident from the CCTV footage of my questioning", she tweeted at 8.50 PM on Thursday. "To set the record straight, during the course of my questioning at ED, right from the start I insisted on not signing any statements till I consulted my lawyers. But I was shown rule books & told that not signing would have consequences". Important to mention here that Mehbooba Mufti reached ED office at Raj Bagh in Srinagar at 11 AM on Thursday. She came out of the office at 4 PM but she issued this statement at 8.50 PM. Sources said that Mehbooba Mufti discussed the issue with some lawyers before posting this statement on her official twitter handle this evening. |
