2-day First Aid training for officials, DRCS volunteers begins at Doda | | | Early Times Report DODA, Mar 25: Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Vikas Sharma today inaugurated two Day First Medical Responder cum First Aid Training course for volunteers of District Red Cross Society. The training was organised by the DRCS in coordination with department of health here at Community Hall. Around 100 officials from different departments including, Education, ICPS, Youth Services and Sports department, Childline, MSK Doda, besides volunteers from various areas of the district are being imparted training during the two day programme. Speaking on the occasion, the DC Doda said that the main objective of training was to enhance the capacity of Red Cross volunteers and communities to deliver emergency first aid services during road accidents, disaster and health emergencies. He said this way a cadre of certified first medical responders would be created in the district. "The participating volunteers and staff will be trained to address needs of their local communities, providing first aid and psychological support to the people" he added. The DC Doda further informed that during the training course resource persons will deliver detailed lectures on the topics Basic First Aid, Safe handling & transporting of the casualty, basic life support, psychological support etc. The DC also asked the concerned authorities of the district administration and health department to conduct the same activities in the far off places of the district so that they shall also be trained to give basic life support to the victims in any exigency till the victim shall be transported to the health institution for proper medical aid. Among others present during the program were ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma, CMO Doda Dr Yaqoob Mir, DEPO Doda Ayaz Mughal, besides other concerned also attended the program. |
