| GCOE Jammu organizes workshop on issues, challenges in education | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 25: A day-long workshop on 'Issues and Challenges in Education during COVID-19 pandemic' is held today in Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu. The motive of the workshop is to understand issues and challenges faced by the system of education and to find out the remedial measures in order to streamline the system. The workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest of the event Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal of the college. In the inaugural session, Prof C. L Shivgotra, convener of the event welcomed the guests and participants of the workshop and also highlighted the outline of workshop. Dr Jyoti Parihar addressed the participants with her talk highlighting the significance of the workshop in the prevailing circumstances. Principal of the college also spoke about the relevance of such workshops in the institutions of education and stressed that these workshops should become regular feature of the colleges. She also highlighted some glaring challenges in the field of education which have hampered the offline working of educational institutions and break down face to face classroom interactions.
In the technical sessions, faculty of the college namely Dr Rajinder Kour, Dr Jyoti Parihar, Prof Shalini Rana, Prof. Deep Kumar Bangotra, Prof. Vinay Lata and Prof. C. L Shivgotra presented their view points on the theme followed by active and close interactions by the participants.
Later on, a round table interaction was followed between participants and senior faculty of the college. Certificates to the participants and resource persons have also been given by the guests of the events. The workshop was attended by 87 participants covering different colleges of Jammu Division. |
