SRINAGAR, June 22: Jammu & Kashmir reported 428 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 12,584. Following seven fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus in the union territory reached 4,269. Srinagar district reported 104 cases followed by Jammu district 32, Kupwara and Rajouri districts 29 each, Pulwama district 28, Baramulla and Budgam districts 25 each, Kulgam and Doda districts 23 each, Poonch district 22, Anantnag, Bandipora and Ganderbal districts 15 each, Reasi district 13, Ramban district eight, Kishtwar district seven, Kathua district six, Udhampur and Samba districts four each and Shopian district one case. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 428 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 148 from Jammu division and 280 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 12,584. Also, seven COVID-19 deaths have been reported, three from Jammu division and four from Kashmir division. Moreover, 999 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 402 from Jammu division and 597 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 79.71 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 3, 12,584 positive cases, 7,181 are active positive, 3, 01,134 have recovered and 4,269 have died; 2,077 in Jammu division and 2,192 in Kashmir division. Out of 95, 81,172 test results available, 92, 68,588 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 23, 35,097 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 32,435 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,181 in isolation and 1, 97,211 in home surveillance. Besides, 20, 94,001 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,331 positive cases, 1,240 active positive, 67,269 recovered, 822 deaths; Baramulla has 23,050 positive cases, 500 active positive, 22,274 recovered, 276 deaths; Budgam has 22,357 positive cases, 592 active positive, 21,564 recovered, 201 deaths; Anantnag district has 15,860 positive cases, 396 active positive, 15,267 recovered, 197 deaths; Pulwama has 14,728 positive cases, 544 active positive, 13,996 recovered, 188 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,607 positive cases, 518 active positive, 12,928 recovered, 161 deaths; Kulgam has 10,930 positive cases, 295 active positive, 10,521 recovered, 114 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,472 positive cases, 208 active positive, 9,188 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,185 positive cases, 237 active positive, 8,849 recovered, 99 deaths and Shopian has 5,537 positive cases, 32 active positive, 5,447 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,275 positive cases, 825 active positive, 50,324 recovered, 1126 deaths; Udhampur has 11,095 positive cases, 107 active positive, 10,857 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,594 positive cases, 253 active positive, 10,126 recovered, 215 deaths; Kathua has 9,162 positive cases, 78 active positive, 8,935 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,041 positive cases, 84 active positive, 6,839 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,668 positive cases, 657 active positive, 5,903 recovered, 108 deaths; Poonch has 6,000 positive cases, 254 active positive, 5,659 recovered, 87 deaths; Ramban has 5,751 positive cases, 135 active positive, 5,467 recovered, 60 deaths; Reasi has 5,592 positive cases, 101 active positive, 5,449 recovered, 42 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,349 positive cases, 125 active positive, 4,183 recovered, 41 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 12,584 positive cases in J&K, 21,998 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
