Exposure tour for JK Sarpanches flagged off

Jammu, Sept 6: The department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Government of J&K has organized a 7-day exposure program to Punjab for Sarpanches of Jammu and Kashmir UT. Under this program, selected Sarpanches from the UT would be travelling to different states and understanding the best practices of different panchayats across the country. This will help them understand the current practices being used to `develop and strengthen the Panchayats and help them in gaining valuable exposure to the best works and programs being run by different panchayats. The First such exposure of ~42 Sarpanches to Punjab was Flagged off from Panchayati Bhavan today by Shri Rakesh Srangal, JKAS, Director, Panchayati Raj and Shri Kishore Singh Chib, JKAS, Director, Rural Development today morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rakesh Srangal, JKAS said that these exposure trips will help the sarpanches of Jammu & Kashmir provinces to learn from other states and also help in empowering them. This will be a milestone for the growth story of Jammu and Kashmir because no state can grow without Garmin Vikas. Kishore Singh, JKAS also addressed the gathering and shared his thoughts. Positive Moves India Consulting Pvt. Ltd. is the nodal agency appointed by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj for organizing these exposure tours.
