COVID-19:Health workers refusing to vaccinate us, allege R S Pura residents
9/6/2021 11:50:58 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 9: Amidst the fear of third wave of COVID-19 breaking out, residents of Rathana in R S Pura area are up in arms against the authorities due to refusal of the health workers to vaccinate them.
“We had got ourselves registered to get a COVID-19 jab. My wife had come to the centre to get the vaccination dose. She requested the concerned lady to vaccinate her as she has got a 1-year old baby at home. But my wife was asked to be in the queue and wait for her turn.
When I approached the Block Medical Officer and apprised him about having got the vaccination slot, the concerned health worker told my wife that she doesn’t listen to recommendations and if she keeps on complaining, she (health worker) will ensure that no one would vaccinate her in the entire R S Pura area.
It’s unfortunate that instead of cooperating with the people, health officials are misbehaving with them,” said a resident.
An elderly man said that he has been visiting Rathana health centre for the past one week to get himself vaccinated. But he is being sent back again and again. “It appears that the health workers are deriving sadistic pleasure by making people wait. If we insist on getting vaccinated we are told that doses are over and we should come on next day. One fails to understand why we are being made to suffer,” said a woman.
