9/6/2021 11:30:08 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Sept 6: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta took out a protest rally in Jammu city by carrying empty buckets against the non-availability of water in Bari Brahmana area of Jammu.
Since past 8 days there is no water supply in the Badhrori area of Bari Brahmana. Since past 2 days there has been no water supply in the urban areas of Jammu as the Company Bagh water plant has not pumped any water due to the non-availability of electricity. Addressing the protesters, Ashok Gupta stated that in Srinagar area all the water pumping stations has generator sets available for the backup when there is an electricity cut and the water is always supplied but in Jammu the pumping stations are without any back up whose brunt has to be faced by the people of Jammu city and rural areas as well. As the mercury has touched a high in Jammu, electricity and water supply seems to have vanished into thin air, he added. He said that the lack of potable water and electricity has sent people of Jammu region back to the Stone Age. In a telephonic conversation with the Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department, Gupta conveyed the problem to him. The Chief Engineer has assured him that the water supply would be restored. The party people who were present during the protest included Veena, Ratno, Pushpa, Devo, Amroh, Rajni, Neelam, Sonia, Bantu, Kalu, Naresh and others.
