Under the controversial, yet ambitious Roshni scheme, the government land valuing Rs 24942.94 lakhs has been regularized in the name of occupants who had applied under the modified regularization scheme.
Though cases of land valuing Rs 24942.94 lakhs have been disposed off by the authorities across the state but the actual amount realized thereof stands at Rs. 4351.23 lakhs. The government had received as many as 25.53 lakh applications for regularization under the Roshni scheme.

The Centre has decided to provide a close proximity cover of elite "Black Cat" commandos from National Security Guard (NSG) to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in the wake of threat perception from Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT).
The sweeping changes come amidst reports of the militant outfit planning to carryout a fidayeen (suicide) attack on the Chief Minister, who has vowed to stamp out terrorism in the state.
