Her opposition to the continuance of the present government in Lucknow headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav is well known. As days roll by her outbursts against Yadav and company will become sharper and louder. In this context, her latest message on the shape of events to come just cannot be ignored. Neither can it be under-estimated. Sonia Gandhi's message surfaced on Saturday in the shape of her forceful criticism of the 'sad' performance of the Mulayam Singh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh. Sonia Gandhi said that Uttar Pradesh had become a perfect case for Article 356. Under Article 356 of the Constituion of India, the Centre can impose President's rule in any State with worse law and order situation or on the brink of a constitutional crisis.
