Jammu, Jan 5: All former loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad, who were recently expelled from the Democratic Azad Party (DAP), are likely to rejoin Congress in New Delhi on Friday.
Highly placed sources said that except for Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, all former loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad have reached New Delhi to rejoin the Congress party in presence of senior leaders.
Although Dr. Sharma was expelled with former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and Thakur Balwan Singh from the DAP, he has decided not to rejoin the Congress.
“The two-time MLA from Billawar and former minister Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma is exploring other possibilities before taking any decision to rejoin the Congress party”, sources said.
As reported earlier by the Early Times, serious differences cropped up between Tara Chand and Dr. Manohar Lal over the future course of action. Srinagar, Jan 5: Unabated cold continues to shiver Kashmir valley as Srinagar experienced the coldest night of the season at -6.4 degree Celsius on Thursday.
The Meteorological Centre office said that Srinagar recorded a low of minus 6.4 degree Celsius on Thursday against minus 5.2 degree Celsius recorded the previous night. It was 4.3 degree Celsius below normal during this period of the season.
This was the second lowest temperature witnessed in Srinagar during the last five years in the month of January. The city recorded a minimum of minus 8.8 degree Celsius on January 31, 2021, Faizan Arif, an independent weather observer, said.
