‘172 terrorists, including 42 foreigners, killed in 93 encounters’ | | |

Srinagar, Dec 31: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Saturday said that 172 militants including 42 foreigners were killed in 93 successful encounters in the year 2022. In a series of tweets he said during the year 2022, a total 93 successful encounters took place in Kashmir in which 172 terrorists including 42 foreign terrorists got neutralized.
He said the maximum terrorists neutralized during the year were from Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and its off shoot The Resistance Front (TRF) 108, following by Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) 35, Hizbul-Mujahideen (HM) 22, Al-Badr 4 and Ansar-ul-Gazwatul Hind (AGuH) 3, he said.
Kumar said that this year, 100 fresh recruitments into terrorist ranks were reported showing a decline of 37% compared to last year. Maximum (74) joined LeT. Out of total recruitment, 65 terrorists neutralised in encounters, 17 terrorists arrested and 18 terrorists are still active.

Jammu, Dec 31: Although alert security forces have foiled Pakistan’s evil design to send heavily-armed terrorists to Kashmir Valley to execute terror attacks, cops have intensified efforts to identify local guides who provided all support to the terrorists and arrange the truck for them.
Sources said that during the initial investigation it has been established that some local guides have arranged a truck, bearing a fake registration number, for the terrorists to help them smoothly reach Kashmir Valley.

New Delhi, Dec 31: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a record 73 cases in 2022 which is a 19.67 per cent increase from the 61 cases registered in 2021 and is an all-time high for the agency.
These cases include 35 cases of Jihadi terror in states such as Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal.
