srinagar, Oct 5: The State unit of Congress Friday registered their protest before AICC general secretary Rahul Ghandi for his friendship remarks with National Conference leadership and warned that such remarks would certainly be having dangerous consequences on the functioning of the congress in the state. Sources told Early Times that Congress leaders including PCC president professor Saifudin Soz, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, former ministers and legislators, office bearers including general secretaries and district presidents met Rahul Ghandi Friday afternoon and apprised him about the current political scenario.
According to sources it was on this occasion that congress leaders expressed their anguish over the friendship remarks which Rahul made during a public meeting at Sonamerg the other day. Sources also said that state congress leaders made it abundantly clear that the alliance partner-the National Conference was ignoring Congress in decision making and was not consulting the congress on important policy decisions.
