‘Culprits’ in Cong blame BJP’s misuse of power for worst-ever defeat in LA polls | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 26: Even as the fact-finding committee has just started its function to ascertain reasons for the historic defeat of the Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir, some senior leaders responsible for the worst-ever debacle are trying to create a narrative that BJP used its resources to win elections.
Highly placed sources said that instead of admitting their blunders, some senior Congress leaders, during the first meeting with the members of the fact-finding committee, argued that BJP used all powers including official machinery and other illegal means to win elections in Jammu province.
Sources said that this narrative of the BJP using illegal means was floated only by those leaders who are responsible for the party’s worst-ever debacle in the elections.
“A senior party who was adamant on contesting election on a particular seat ridiculously alleged that the BJP has manipulated the EVMs”, a party leader, wishing anonymity, told The Early Times. He said that the same leader was responsible for the party’s debacle on two assembly segments.
