Jammu, Nov 11: As earlier order issued by the authorities failed to ensure the attendance of employees in government offices, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday issued strict directions regarding adherence to biometric attendance in government offices, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), institutions, and corporations.
The Union Territory administration has directed the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to furnish daily Action Taken Report (ATR) in this regard to the General Administration Department (GAD) of the government.
Dr. Piyush Singla Secretary to the Government GAD issued an order No No.GAD-ADM/262/2021-09-GAD on November 11, 2022, in which clear directions were issued to all Heads of Departments (HoDs) and DDOs.
The order clearly mentioned that biometric attendance is mandatory for all employees.

Srinagar, Nov 11: Democratic Azad Party (DAP) chief Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday said there was a need to separate religion from politics.
"Everyone has a right to put across his or her viewpoint but they should talk about uniting people, not create divisions. They should not divide people on the basis of politics or religion.

Srinagar, Nov 11: Security forces shot dead a foreign militant of Jaish-e-Mohammad in a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Friday morning, police said.
The gun battle had erupted at Kapren Shopian during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the area following an input about the militant presence.
"The CASO turned into a gunfight. One terrorist was killed in the encounter, a police official said, adding the search operation is underway.
