Srinagar, Nov 7: Zakir Rashid Bhat alias Zakir Musa, who was a self-styled commander of the Hizbul Mujahedeen outfit, formed Al-Qaeda’s offshoot in Jammu and Kashmir following differences with other terror groups.
In July 2017 the Global Islamic Media Front-affiliated Al-Hurr media channel of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind claimed that Zakir Musa had been named the head of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a newly created cell of Al-Qaeda. Kashmir's most wanted militant and Burhan Wani's successor Zakir Musa killed in Tral.
Zakir Musa was one of the most wanted terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. On 21 December 2018, the group's deputy leader Soliha Mohammad Akhoon, also known as Rehaan Khan, was killed in an encounter with 42 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF along with five other militants.
On 24 May 2019, security forces killed Zakir Musa in an encounter in the Tral area of Kashmir. Security forces had to blast a chemist's house where Musa was hiding.

Srinagar, Nov 7: J&K Police on Monday said it has cracked a recent improvised explosive device (IED) blast case in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir by arresting two hybrid militants.
The low intensity IED blast took place between Aloosa and Kenusa in Bandipora on October 27, while an Army vehicle was passing through the area. There was no loss of life reported in the incident.
Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar said Sopore police cracked the IED blast incident and arrested two hybrid terrorists -- a term coined by police for the militants who slip back into normal lives and have no police records -- involved in the incident.

New Delhi, Nov 7: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested then Assistant Sub Inspector of J&K Police and others including Constable of CRPF posted at 160 Battalion, Chatha, Jammu in a case related to alleged J&K Police Sub Inspector Recruitment Scam, the probe agency said on Monday.

Srinagar, Nov 7: The J&K Police in Kashmir on Monday produced a charge sheet against five accused in the abduction and murder of Kashmiri soldier in Budgam district in March this year.
Sameer Malla, a soldier with the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI), was on leave and went missing on March 7 and his body was recovered four days later from Khag in Budgam.
In 2019, soldier Malla was held guilty by a court martial along with his company commander Major Leetul Gogoi for fraternising with a local woman and being away from the place of duty while in operational area.

In a landmark verdict, the apex court by a majority view of 3:2 on Monday upheld the validity of the 103rd Constitution amendment providing 10 per cent reservation to people belonging to the economically weaker sections (EWS) in admissions and government jobs.

Jammu, Nov 7: The Government announced a hike of four percent in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners.
Regular employees and pensioners will get Dearness Allowance at the rate of 38 percent, with an increase of four percent to the existing rate, with effect from 1 July this year.
According to an order issued by the Secretary Finance Department, the government employees working in regular pay levels under 7th Pay Commission recommendations will be paid Dearness Allowance at a revised rate of 38 percent of Basic Pay from the existing 34 percent of Basic Pay. Revised rate will be effective from July 1, 2022, it added.
