| DB directs authorities to prepare plan for enforcing ban | | | |
JAMMU, FEB 20
The Division Bench of J&K Court Jammu wing comprising Chief Justice BA Khan and Justice JP Singh, in a much publicized regulation of traffic in the Jammu and Kashmir, has directed Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority to take necessary steps and complete all types of works at Van-Bhawan parking lot. It also directed for making necessary arrangements for restricting entry of vehicles in Ragunath Bazaar.
The Division Bench observed that it has come to notice that Court directions of December 28, 2006, providing for preparation of plan by the Chief Engineer, Public Works Department, DIG Traffic, SSP Traffic Jammu, Commissioner JMC, has not been taken note of and all these authorities have not applied their mind on the ban order to be enforced so that alternate facility of parking could be provided.

| Two CRPF personnel killed in Militant Attack | | | | SRINAGAR, FEB 20
Two CRPF Troopers were killed when unidentified militants fired upon the Road Opening Party (ROP) of 155 Bn CRPF at Sangam in Anantnag this morning. Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot and injured a person while pruning trees at Viza Kreeri.
According to reports, some unidentified militants fired with pistols upon ROP of 155 Bn CRPF at Sangam Chowk, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bijbehara in South Kashmir. Two CRPF troopers were critically injured in the attack who later on succumbed to their injuries. India's new plea in relation to the renovated Katasraj temple complex in Pakistani Punjab province: Pakistan should appoint a permanent Pandit (priest) to take care of the complex and organise prayers.
Sardari Lal Gosvami, the secretary general of the Temple Council of India, and the leader of Indian delegation which has already offered prayers at the Katasraj temple on the invitation of Pakistan government, was reported to have told told newsmen in Lahore that efforts are underway to bring a Pandit from India on permanent basis. He said that the only problem they face is about securing a long-term visa for the Pandit.

Even as New Delhi and Islamabad have accepted the February 12 verdict by the World Bank-appointed neutral expert on the Baglihar hydro-electric project of Jammu region, the dispute is not over. Significant, indeed, is a message from across the border, clearly suggesting that Pakistan has the option to go to a court of arbitration against Prof. Raymond Lafitte's decision.
