JAMMU, Feb 22: If you are looking out for information regarding Jammu & Kashmir state or want to go through the profile of the state’s Chief Minister and Ministers with the click of a mouse on official portals of the government, then a big disappointment and displeasure is waiting for you.
Even though it is the age of information technology where minute turn of events are disseminated with the blink of an eye, the official websites of J&K government fail to inform the state’s internet users and for that matter of the other parts of the country as well as abroad.

JAMMU, Feb 22, Addressing the joint sitting of Parliament on Tuesday, President of the Union, Pratibha Devisingh Patil, asserted that "the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved.” She also referred to measures her government has taken to improve the situation. She referred to an all- party delegation that visited the State last year, as also to the appointment of interlocutors, who, according to her are “engaged fruitfully in their endeavours." But what she said was actually the point of view of the Union Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister.

JAMMU, Feb 22: Despite Jammu university officials parroting for the last 17 years that issue of retrieving land belonging to it which is in the possession of army has been taken up at the highest level, nothing has moved.

JAMMU, Feb 22: Date of Birth tampering seems to have been key factor in several senior police officers being still in service. Though two have been shown the door but three more have purportedly tempered with their certificates and are under scanner.
Sources said that though the government has not ordered any probe but agencies have been put on alert and asked to scrutinize records properly to find out all those officers who have faked with the government. Jammu, Feb 22: Beware all stray dogs of Srinagar. A `Pied Piper’ is on the prowl in summer capital of the state. Officials claim a man they found recently can play the Pied Piper and make all dogs leave Kashmir.
The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon has urged the `Piper’ Khurshid Ahmed Mir to try his skills on two municipal wards on experimental basis.
An official handout issued last week confirmed the development. According to the handout a meeting chaired by Samoon was held last week. Khurshid also participated and discussed his modus operandi.
