Jammu, Feb 4: By raising contentious issues the National Conference Lok Sabha member Aga Ruhullah Mehdi has put his party in a difficult situation.
After taking stand on issues like existing reservation rules, restoration of statehood and Art 370, Mehdi sparked a fresh debate by demanding the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's pre-1953 position.
The National Conference had raised this demand in its Autonomy Report which was rejected by the then Central Government headed by late Atal Behari Vajpayee.
In 2000, the BJP-led NDA had outrightly the Greater Autonomy report passed by the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

Srinagar, Feb 4: A CRPF jawan stationed in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir tragically lost his life due to a cardiac arrest.
According to officials, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the soldier, identified as Vishnoo from Gujarat, serving with the E/37th Battalion of CRPF at Nillow, complained of severe chest pain.
He was immediately referred to a nearby hospital, but sadly, he was declared dead upon arrival, officials said.
