Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 17: The BJP has gone full-throttle with a high-voltage campaign, while the Congress seems to have adopted a subdued approach as the parties gear up for a three-cornered contest -- scheduled on April 19 and 26 -- in the Udhampur and Jammu constituencies. In both the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP secured the Udhampur and Jammu seats with Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore emerging triumphant, respectively. Now, seeking a hat-trick of wins in the two constituencies, the saffron party is vigorously working to fortify its support base. Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 17: Security forces on Wednesday defused three Tiffin Improvised Explosive Devices (IEds), recovered from a terrorist hideout in Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources said that a search operation was launched this morning by the security forces in the Gursai area. Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 17: With below normal temperatures continuing in Jammu and Kashmir, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Wednesday predicted another spell of rain and snow over the next two days. The Met office said that light to moderate rain, light snow over higher reaches is expected at most places with thunder and lightning during Thursday and Friday in Jammu and Kashmir. The weather is likely to remain dry and partially cloudy on Wednesday, it said. Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 17: A non-local was shot dead by the terrorists in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday evening, officials said. An official said a civilian, hailing from Bihar, identified as Raja Shah, son of Shankar Shah, presently living at Jablipora, Bilal Colony was fired upon by the terrorists at Bijbehara. “The civilian received bullet injuries in neck and abdomen, leaving him in a pool of blood.
