| Governor reviews first 5 days of Yatra movement | | Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2013 | | |
SRINAGAR: Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, who is Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, reviewed all important aspects of the on-going Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which commenced on 28th June 2013, in a meeting held at Raj Bhavan here today. He reviewed the to-date status of the first five days movement of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is proceeding satisfactorily.
The Governor has been daily monitoring the movement of the Yatra and for this purpose the CCTV Cameras installed at Access Control Gates at Chandanwari and Domel have been directly linked up with the Raj Bhavan via Internet. As soon as the Yatris start arriving at the Access Control Gates at Domel and Chandanwari in the morning around 5. a. m., for their onward journey to the Holy Cave, their movements are monitored live by the CEO and, during the day four hourly reports are sent to the Chairman regarding the Camp-wise position of the number of Yatris arriving there, halting there, moving towards the Shrine and the number of those who have performed Darshan at the Holy Shrine. | Jora flags off fleet of 12GHV to lift door to door garbage | | ‘Says Solid waste management Rules-2000 to be implemented in letter & spirit’ | | | SRINAGAR: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora today flagged off the first batch of 12 Garbage Hopper Vehicles (GHV) purchased at a cumulative cost of Rs 48 lakh by Srinagar Municipal Corporation for door to door garbage collection in Srinagar city. The GHV were flagged off from New Secretariat Gate this afternoon.

| | | | Rs. 16,000 realized as fine from erring handicraft dealers | | | | SRINAGAR: An inspection was conducted jointly by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue alongwith the Enforcement Wing of Quality Control Division, Directorate of Handicrafts to ensure sale and quality handicrafts by dealers of Boulevard and Dalgate tourist areas.
During the inspection, the handicraft dealers were found running their business without a valid Tourist Trade Registration Certificates, besides without proper price tags and cash memos and were penalized. An amount of Rs. 16,000/- was realized as fine from the erring dealers on the occasion.
