Labour Commissioner P.P.Singh Baitab on a visit to the district held a meeting with the deputy commissioner, R.K. Bhagat and other concerned district officer to discuss and review the labour problem.
The Nambardars of various villages who also attended the meeting put forth their demand for engagement of local labour instead of non-locals at border and the locations. The labour commissioner discussed various other issues in detail with the deputy commissioner and assured that local labourers would be considered in future for which a monthly meeting be held a review the progress for engagement of labour and other aspects.
Among others who attended the meeting includes deputy labour commissioner, Kashmir division, Assistant commissioner, revenue Kargil Assistant labour commissioner, Kargil, Tehsildar, Kargil and Sankoo, Assistant collector, Shakar Chiktan.
