| Reshuffle 'move' now after Oct 10….? | | Murmurs , speculations rife within Cong, uneasy calm in NC | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 17: With a flurry of political developments at Centre and some vital changes in the form of reshuffle on anvil both within UPA Cabinet as well as in the Congress organizational composition, while all eyes are set on New Delhi , the spirit of the enthusiasts aspiring for such a move in J&K from both the alliance partner have dampened for now. The reshuffle and expansion, if any, is going to happen not before October 10. The murmurs and speculations, albeit are on high end within the Congress whereas there is uneasy calm within NC over the issue.
Sources said even as the Congress leadership appears to have started some meaningful gestures for giving a practical shape to the long pending exercise over which resentment is growing from all quarters, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah may not be able to give a final call on the overdue move before Autumn session of Assembly . Sources said while Congress looks serious this time and is in a mood to reclaim the key portfolios besides accommodating a third Minister in the Cabinet, the NC led Government will further push it ahead on account of the pre occupation with the preparations for the session.
The session is beginning from October 1 and will conclude on October 10. No matter the proceedings of the legislature are scheduled for not more than six days, some holidays in between the calendar of the Autumn session, the ruling NC would not like to effect any major changes in terms of Cabinet reshuffle or expansion ahead of that for apparent reasons, sources said adding, which is why even in the event of Congress coming to any final conclusions over names of the persons to be inducted or replacing the present incumbents , as is being given to understand by the leadership of the party.
What makes the tasks little difficult for NC is that every time Congress leadership shows any pro active approach and strong inclination to get back the portfolios and fill the vacant berth in party's quota, it stirs up otherwise silent and still political waters within the NC. It is pertinent to mention that even though there has been a marathon of activities , speculations over probable names, removal of tainted Ministers within the Congress, NC leadership has maintained complete silence over the issue, notwithstanding the fact that the party can also accommodate at least one Minister in the Cabinet. The silence of the high command, considered to be strategic , is however making many quarters feel uncomfortable and uneasy within the NC, sources added. |
