Various parties call for Jammu Bandh | | | early times report JAMMU, Sept 18: Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP)Jammu & Kashmir, has appealed the public, traders, transporters, educational and social organizations to support the September 20 Bharat Bandh call given by NDA against the recent steep hike in the prices of diesel, cooking gas and permitting the foreign companies to open retail shops in the country under FDI and make it successful. The appeal was made by BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas at a press conference at party headquarters here today. He was flanked by National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh and Jammu District President Rajesh Gupta. Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the Congress led UPA government at the centre under the Prime Ministership of so-called most able Economist Dr. Manmohan Singh has been taking one decision after the other which have been hitting the people across the country making their lives miserable and the recent decision on FDI and hike in diesel price are the latest actions in this direction. Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the BJP, alongwith other constituents of NDA, has appealed the people of the country, cutting across their political, social and religious affiliations, to support the September 20 Bharat bandh call so that a clear message goes to the Manmohan Singh led UPA Government at the Centre that the people of the country cannot be taken for granted any more and that they are now prepared to oppose all the anti-people, anti-trader and anti-transporter policies. Kranti Dal supported the Jammu/India Bandh Call onsd 20TH September 2012 in a meeting held in the office presided by Raj Roop Singh (President) & its Gen. Secy. Sh. Pritam Sharma. In the meeting it was unanimously resolved that the Kranti Dal will fully support the Bandh call given by various parties & organization against the UPA Govt.'s anti-people policies. Pritam Sharma said that by raising the price of essential commodities like LPG & Diesel, the Govt. has indirectly raised the prices of every household items like Atta, Rice, Pulses, Oil etc. The rise in the price of Diesel @ Rs. 5/- ltr., the prices of essential commodities will automatically sky rocket as the freight rates will increase. Moreover the charges of passenger vehicles will also increase.
