Rains leave city roads in Kathua completely inundated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Sept 18: The recent rains in Jammu region have left people in Kathua to face miseries due to the water logging and overflowing of the sewage water all over. Our correspondent adds that all the roads and streets got water logged just after slight showers resulting into health as well as safety hazards for the drivers in particular the two wheelers drivers. The most of link and inter-city roads develop pot holes ending into distorted traffic in Kathua town for many days. An extensive walk to in the various localities of Kathua town gave an true picture to any road side walker including this reporter that recent rains had left many areas water-logged while people are facing hardships due to rain water entering into their houses while streets and roads particularly in Shiva Nagar, Patel Nagar and part of College Road from Shaheedi Chowk - Mukharji Chowk, various wards and the major portion of Sawan Chack remained water inundated forcing pedestrians to wade through and putting drivers on daunting task. People in low lying areas are forced to vacate ground floors and many have to shift their furniture and electronics equipments for precautionary measures. The awful happening don't stop here only and to the surprise of people sewage water also started flowing all over emitting foul smell. Dalip Chand, Shashi Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Bodh Raj, Joginder Pal, Sahil, and many others criticized district administration of the Kathua to put the people into such a state of unbearable difficulties. Majority of them also condemned the elected representatives and others politicians of districat for failing to rais3e the voice for the better hygienic conditions in the Kathua town. One of the resident lamenting his awful experience after sewage water entered into his house said we have no effective representation in order to apprise our grievances and day today matters of development into the notice of Govt. like others he also underlined that Chief Minister should personally intervene into the matter to create a better living conditions in Kathua town. |
