Kamaal drops 'bomb shell' blames Mufti, Geelani forces for killings of sarpanches in valley
9/26/2012 11:59:14 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 26: National Conference General Secretary Dr Mustafa Kamaal Wednesday kicked up a storm by alleging that vested interests in Kashmir valley were involved in targeted killings of innocent sarpanches and panches in the state.
Interacting with the media persons here at party headquarters Dr Mustafa Kamaal also went on to blame the hardliner separatist forces headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mufti Mohd Sayeed and security forces for the recent killings of elected representatives.
He termed the killings as 'targeted killings' executed with an aim to destabilise the peaceful situation in the state and create an impression that all is not well in the state and things are going haywire under the chief minister Omar Abdullah.
Surprisingly the remarks came a day after the senior cabinet minister Ali Mohd Sagar claimed that 'apparently' hand of militants was behind the killing of sarpanches in the state and Dr Mustafa Kamaal came to centre stage with his divergent view point over this contentious issue.
Dr Kamal claimed that most of the killings took place in the strong hold of Jamat-e-Islami in South Kashmir and first finger should be pointed towards them.
He alleged everyone in the state including common man, politicians, separatists, armed forces, intelligence agencies have developed certain vested interests and running their shops by not allowing the situation to return to normalcy. "The targeted killings are an outcome of the 'dirty politics' of separatist leaders, said Dr Mustafa further alleging, "in the recent years vested interests have grown further across the board."
Showing no concern towards poor and innocent people the separatists are playing politics of 'hartal and gun' in Kashmir to keep people in partial state of misery.
He said it is high time the Government of India must listen to Omar Abdullah and party patron and work towards easing the situation in Kashmir by reducing the foot prints of the Indian army. He said presence of Indian army is a big obstacle towards normalisation of situation in Kashmir. Dr Kamaal while questioning the timing of the killings asked when these people were elected they were not killed at that time but now when talks are going on over revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers act these killings have been executed.
Blaming every one for creating a hype over the recent killings Dr Mustafa said now even Rahul Gandhi has also stepped in and an impression is being created as if things are going haywire in the state. But I know it is not the case. The situation is not deteriorating, It is not a law and order problem, he added.
He said the targeted killings are meant to delay the process of normalisation in the state. Hawks sitting in New Delhi, hawks sitting in Defence Ministry and Hawks sitting in armed forces are looking for such excuses and people are providing them the same whether at the behest of separatist leaders or at the behest of political parties lead by Mufti Mohd Sayeed who is very much involved in targeted killings.
Blaming PDP patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed Dr Mastafa Kamaal said PDPwon seats in strong holds of Jamat -e-Islami and Hizbul Mujahideen. On record Mufti Mohd Sayeed had made it clear that he can go to any
extent to destablise this government. "I would also make him prime accused in the recent killings though he has belatedly come out against the killings said Dr Mustafa further adding, "the recent killlings were executed with a political agenda on mind and every one with a vested interest in behind it.
