Congress Sarpanch booked for rape

KISHTWAR, Sept 26: In a shocking incident a Congress Sarpanch was booked for rape in Bhunzwah area of Kishtwar district today.
Reports said 40 year old Congress Sarpanch from Patshala (Tipri) Mohammad Ishaq son of Alaf Din Gujjar resident of Patshala Tipri in Bhunzwah area of Kishtwar district allegedly committed rape on 35 year old woman during intervening night of 24-25 September 2012.
The victim today appeared before the Munsif Judge Kishtwar (Incharge CJM) through her counsel Sushil Kumar and sought a direction for registration of FIR against the erring Sarpanch, Mohammad Ishaq and others.
The court directed the concerned police station to register an FIR. The police registered FIR No: 258 under sections 342, 376, 323, 504, 506, 382 and 354 RPC against Congress Sarpanch Mohammad Ishaq Gujjar and his two associates Ali Hassan son of Kalloo Gujjar and Rahim Ali son of Liquat Ali also resident of Patshala Bhunzwah.
The complainanat was shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for medical examination.
According to the victim, she was a divorce and was residing alone at her home along with her 5 year old daughter at Patshala village of Kishtwar district and is working as cook in Government school for Rs. 1000/month.
She said that on 24-09-2012, the accused Mohammad Ishaq who happens to be the Congress Sarpanch from Patshala knocked at her door at around 10 PM and informed her that he wanted to handover permanent order of job to her.
She said the accused entered into her residence and overpowered her and committed rape on her. The victim further added that at around 5 AM, he escaped and returned after a few hours.
This time, she said, the accused was accompanied by few other person two of them were identified as Ali Hassan and Rahim Ali. She said that Mohammad Ishaq besides threatening her to kill in case she approached the police also thrashed her mercilessly with the help of his accompanies and tore her clothes.
The victim said that she somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the accused Sarpanch and his associates and reached the court.
The victim said that there are many women like her who becomes the victim of Sarpanch atrocities in past. She said that the Sarpanch every time managed to escape punishment by using his political influence. She said that she will fight for the justice and demanded stern action against the accused Sarpanch.
