Sham pays surprise visit to Health Institutions, Parks, Horticulture Nursaries

SRINAGAR, Sept 26 : As a part of continued efforts of the Government to provide better health care facilities to common people, especially living in far flung and remote areas of the State, the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma paid a surprise visit to Seven Health Institutions including Government Primary Health Centres of Srigufwara and Salar, DOT Centre Yenned, Government Civil Hospital Pahalgam, Government Primary Health Centre, Ashmuqam, Sub District Hospital Seer Hamdan, Govt. Primary Health Centre, Mattan. The Minister was accompanied by MLAs of Pahalgam and Shangus constituencies, Mr. Rafiq Ahmed Mir and Peer Mansoor Ahmed.
The Minister during his one day whirlwind tour of District Anantnag enroute to Pahalgam stepped in 24 Kanals HPMC apple grading Plant at Posh Kreeri, Cheeni Wooder, presently in a dilapidated condition due to fire incident during militancy period.
He was informed that this year the department earned revenue of Rs.36000 from its produce. On the occasion, the locals demanded revival of this plant once again. They also demanded for construction of cold storage.
The Minister also interacted with local orchardists and enquired about the rate and availability of transport facilities for export of their apple produce to different markets of the Country.
Sham Lal also took a round of Sub District Seer Hospital Hamadan and inspected the Medicare facilities being provided to the patients. During his tumultuous tour, Sham Lal also paid surprise visit to Govt. Primary Health Centre, Mattan and directed the doctors to provide better medical facilities to the patients.
Sham Lal said that well flourished Parks and Gardens not only adds grace in the natural beauty of the valley but the fragrance of the flowers of these parks and gardens attract the tourists not only locally but also on national and international level in abundance.
