| Interrogation of suspected ISI agent | | Mehraj’s confessional statement sent to GoI | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar September 30:- The Jammu Kashmir Police has sent suspected ISI agent, Mehraj-ud-Din alias Javed’s confessional statement to the union Home Ministry and External Affairs Ministry. The decision has been taken to enable the GoI to take up the matter with the government of Nepal. “The statement will further help GoI in proving how Nepal is being used by the Pakistan spy agency ISI and the underworld, sources in the police department said. According to the sources, the government of India has already taken up the matter with the government of Nepal. Sources said the Nepal government has assured help to the Indian authorities to probe the allegations leveled by key ISI man during his sustained questioning by Jammu Kashmir Police. The sources said that on the bases of the assurance of all possible help from Nepal government, a team of Jammu Kashmir police is likely to visit Nepal in next few days to assists Nepal police in identifying the ISI hideouts used by Mehraj-ud-Din and his men in launching terror strike against India since last 15-20 years. The sources said that on the bases of the inputs given by Mehraj the government of India is preparing the case so that Government of India can force the Nepal government to act against ISI sponsored terror modules operating from Nepal soil against India. In his confessional statement, Mehraj threw light on ISI and underworld plans to destabilize peace and tranquility in India. He informed the police that how ISI pumped fake Indian currency notes in India. He also informed the police about ISI plans to attack Indian officials in Kathmandu during 2002 SAARC summit, beside confess his involvement in planning the hijacking of IC-814 in the year 1999, attack on US Information center at Kolkata in 2002, 1996 Lagpath Nagar blast and several terror activities that took place across India in over 2 decades. Meanwhile the 9 day police remand of the accused comes to end tomorrow and the police is likely to produce him in court in connection with the FIR registered against him on 22nd of September 2012 to seek extension in his police remand. |
