DODA, Oct 18: Sports Cricket Club (SCC) Doda and Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda today sailed into the final of the CRPF-Public Friendly Twenty20 Cricket Tournament underway at Sports Stadium, Doda. Earlier, in the first semifinal of the day, SCC Bhalessa trounced Zakir Cricket Club (ZCC) Doda by 15 runs. Batting first, after winning the toss, SCC Bhalessa made 134 runs for the loss of six wickets. Ravi and Firdous Khanday remained top scorers with 38 and 21 runs respectively. From ZCC Doda, Salman and Mudassir took one wicket each. In reply, ZCC Doda could not chase the 135 runs target and could make only 119 runs in given 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Ravinder and Salman top scored with 26 and 21 runs respectively. From SCC Bhalessa, Firdous Khanday and Bilal took three and two wickets respectively. Firdous Khanday of Sports Cricket Club Bhalessa was declared as man of the match for his all round performance. Meanwhile, in other semifinal, YSCC Doda defeated Jodhpur Cricket Club (JCC) by six wickets. Earlier, JCC bowled out for a small total of 66 runs in 17.2 overs. Harish and Zeeshan contributed highest 19 and 17 runs respectively. Sohan Singh, Waseem Butt and Manzoor Batt shared two wickets each from YSCC Doda. Batting second, YSCC Doda overhauled the opponent total in just 9.1 overs losing four wickets. Sohan Singh and Waseem played superb innings of 19 and 17 runs respectively. From JCC Surinder, Vijay and Umar Khan shared one wicket each.
Later, for his all-round performance, Sohan Singh of Young Star Cricket Club Doda declared man of the match. Today's semifinals were officiated by Irfoz Rather, Vinod Kumar as umpires while Shahid Bashir Pampori acted as scorer. In today's semifinals, Commandant of host 76 Bn of CRPF, Taranjit Singh was special guest. Among others present were Deputy Commandant of 76 Bn, Sukhvir Singh, Assistant Commandant, P Kalaiarasan, Medical Officer 76 Bn, Dr Supinder Singh and Member JKCA Mehboob Kraipak. |
