| "Omar govt piling up woes of common man by adopting anti-people policies" | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 24: A cross-section of society feels that the Omar-led coalition government has been piling up woes of the common man by allegedly adopting anti-people policies. They said the NC-Congress coalition government seemed to be in a very bad state due to the alleged rampant corruption and "misgovernance". Sudhanshu of Gandhi Nagar said because of corruption in the state administration, development had taken a backseat and the government had become totally unresponsive to the woes of the common man. Arvind Pradhan of Kachi Chawni said he and some other people of the area had decided not to vote in favour of the coalition and the BJP in the next assembly polls in the state. "We will vote for an honest candidate even if he was an independent, or belonged to a lesser known political party," he added. Mohammad Akbar of Ustad Mohalla accused the chief minister of being biased in dealing with the issues of Kashmir and Jammu regions. He observed that none of the political parties here had ever whole-heartedly supported the cause of the people of Jammu region. Be it the issue of Amarnath land row, or any other local issue, NC and Congress had most of the time tried to distance themselves from Jammu, Akbar added.Kuldeep Mahajan of old city said despite allegations of corruption against some of its ministers and officials, the government had not bothered to focus on these issues. "The spiralling price rice of essential commodities is another factor that goes against the government," he felt, saying the people were fed up with the NC-Congress regime. Peoples' resentment was likely to result in the defeat of the coalition in the next assembly polls in the state, Sardar Khan of Ustad Mohalla said.
