JAMMU, Nov 1: On the seventh day of fortnight long Festivals Mega Show 2012 Deputy Chief Minister. Tara Chand today visited Kala Kendra, Jammu and attended the mega event being organized by the Department of Information. The department has organized the Mega Show to showcase the state's rich composite culture and provide a platform to local as well as national level artisans, government and private organizations to exhibit their products and art forms. The evening visual show programme was started by showing a documentary by Jammu Municipal Corporation, followed by screening of Dogri movie 'Maa Ni Mildi'. The day also marked beginning of four day long, All India Painters Camp (graphics). Mr. Tara Chand visited the photo exhibition and appreciated the role department plays in projecting achievements of the present government. He said numerous welfare initiatives and mega development projects have been initiated by the government and people at large need to be made aware, so that maximum benefit can be derived from these exemplary programmes and schemes. Commissioner, JMC Mr. Khajuria, Joint Director Information, Jammu Mr. Soujanya Sharma, SP, South Mr. Rajeshwar Singh, prominent citizens, journalists, officers and staff of the department were present on the occasion. The mega show involves, screening of Dogri movies, photo exhibition, cultural programmes, painting camps (graphics), photo exhibition by photo journalists, departmental stalls, joy rides, societies stalls, home appliances, local traders stall besides healthcare products and children book fair. Pottery stall has been a major crowd puller in the event and book stall, health care products, electric gadgets, picnic tables sets, herbal products, melamine crockery, and handicraft stalls of private and government organizations are also getting good response from the visitors. |
