KISHTWAR, Nov 1: Ahead of Friday prayers and plan of Hurriyat leaders to visit Kishtwar in connection with incident of facebook blasphemy that hit Kishtwar, security forces have been put on high alert to thwart any attempt from communal forces to vitiate peace and communal harmony in the area.
After two days of uneasy calm in Chatroo and District Headquarter Kishtwar, the police and the administration apprehended protest after Friday's prayers. Police have called in extra forces from adjoining districts of Chenab Valley to control law and order situation.
All entry points leading to Kishtwar district and link roads connecting different areas of Chatroo have reportedly been sealed to prevent mass movement of people from adjoining areas towards Chatroo. In order to maintain peace and communal harmony, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar along with SSP Kishtwar held a series of meetings with prominent public representatives of Kishtwar and Chatroo. Immam, Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo along with over a dozen prominent citizens called up on Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and discussed the prevailing situation. Both DC Kishtwar as well as SSP Kishtwar assured Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar that action will be initiated against the culprits irrespective of any considerations.
The administration informed the people that police have already registered the FIR at police station Kishtwar and have arrested the three accused. The administration further informed the people that once the investigation will move forward and in case the name of any other person or persons will come to the fore, they too will be arrested. Copy of order of termination from officiating duties of two arrested ReT teachers accused of uploading blasphemy photo on facebook was too provided to the public representatives at Chatroo. On public demand regarding disbanding of VDCs/DDCs, SSP Kishtwar informed the public representatives to submit the written demand of absorbing of Muslim Youths in VDCs/DDCs and assured them that their demands will be looked into. He also told the people to submit written complaints to the police in case they found that any VDC/DDC members use his weapon to terrorize the people.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar police party led by SHO Kishtwar Mushtaq Ahmed produced both the accused before Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar who sent all the three accused namely Bansi Lal, Kishori Sharma and Kirti Sharma to 8 days police custody. All the three accused were produced in the court of CJM Kishtwar under tight security cover.
