Kathua, Nov 2 : To discuss the arrangements and preparedness for Diwali festival commencing on 13th of November, 2012 a meeting was convened by District Development Commissioner, Kathua Ms Zahida Parveen khan here at Kathua today. During the meeting Deputy Commissioner, Ms Zahida Khan directed to check the place notified for the sale of crackers and said that licenses for the sale of crackers should be issued to only those vendors which will strictly follow the guidelines for the sale of crackers. She said that a committee will be constituted to keep a check on cracker godowns and vendors selling the crackers must adhere to the guidelines strictly. She directed the Fire services department to keep the fire engines ready to meet any eventuality. She asked the Executive officer, Kathua to inform the people of town about the safety measures to be taken to celebrate and enjoys Diwali festival safely. She also directed Executive Officer, Municipality Kathua to keep a check on adulteration of various eatables, sanitation, and encroachment in market places and other busy places in the town.
She directed XEN PDD to ensure the un-interrupted the power supply on the occasion of Diwali. She also passed instructions to PHE to ensure the regular supply of chlorinated drinking water and to keep the water tankers ready in case of scarcity in any areas. She directed the traffic police to keep the market places free of traffic. There should be no parking in the busy markets and other important places in the town.
She directed the CMO, Kathua to keep the hospitals in the district well equipped with the life saving drugs to meet any eventuality. Among others ADDC Kathua Ajay Sing Jamwal, ACR, Kathua Mr Puneet Sharma CPO,Kathua Dy.SP, Daljeet Singh Executive Officer MC, Kathua Tehsildar , Kathua, Rep. of Fire Services department, Legal Meteorology Department , CMO, Kathua AEE PHE, PDD were also present on the occasion. |
