Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 25 : Alleging complete inefficiency in JK Board of School Education, the Joint Action Committee of ETT Colleges said today that the state government has adopted a casual attitude towards lack of work culture in board.
Addressing a press conference today at Jammu Press Club, the Joint Action Committee members, stressed upon the state coalition government to issue a "White Paper" on the functioning of the JK School Board (BOSE) which is in shambles at present.
The members said that approximately 500 ETT colleges, which create revenue of over Rs. 40 crore for JK Board, Rs 5 crore for the School Education Department and created earning for thousands of unemployed youth is being scuttled to death.
It is shocking that in the ETT session 2007-09 when the number of colleges was approximately 150, total number of students enrolled in this course were 51000.
In the sessions 2005-07, 2006-08, 2007-09 and 2008-10, the performance was comparatively better. Ever since the present Chairman took the reins of the Board, it has been fallen to the extent that in the present session i.e. 2012-14 there are only 1463 applications against the number of colleges as 550 which speaks the volumes of the inefficiency of the Chairman who with a malafide intensions has failed to get the exams of session 2008-10 conducted after the eighth months of its stopping. It is for the first time ever in the history of any educational organization that a full-fledged session of 2010-12 was declared zero.
A thorough probe is required that how many times the stake holders have to approach the Courts of law for getting even smallest of their grievances redressed and similarly how much of the public money within the Board, have been spent on the litigations. Invariably, in all the Court decisions the Board has been held guilty and responsible.
It is unfortunate that despite of a public commitment of the Chairman to regularize the students of session 2011-13, the stake holders are running from pillar to post to get the same done which has its direct bearing on the present session.
