| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 4 held | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Nov 25 : Ramban Police today arrested four bovine smugglers, seized 1 vehicle and rescued 13 Bovine animals which were illegally being carried towards Kashmir valley, in two different incidents at Ramsoo and Gool. Reports revealed that soon after receiving information about transportation of bovine animals towards Kashmir Valley, Police personnel laid a naka on the National Highway. During checking, Naka party intercepted a Mahindra bearing registration No. JK19-1306 loaded with 5 bovine animals which were illegally being transported towards Kashmir Valley. Police arrested the driver namely Shakeel Ahmed son of Jan Mohd of Qazigund, Teh. Duro, Anantnag and rescued five bovines from his possession. The vehicle along with bovines seized and a case FIR No. 79/2012 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act got registered at P/S Ramsoo. In another incident at Gool, Police party during checking at Gool intercepted three persons namely Mohd Shafi son of Gulam Mohmdu, Mohmdu son of Gul Mohd and Mushtaq son of Mohmdu, all residents of Heela illegally carrying 8 bovine animals (by foot) towards Kashmir valley. Police arrested all the three smugglers and rescued bovines from their possession. In this connection case FIR No. 74/2012 U/S 188/RPC has been registered at P/S Gool. Meanwhile, Ramban Police today achieved success when Police party of Police Station Banihal succeeded in arresting an absconder from Jammu who was evading arrest since long. According to police sources, an absconder identified as Jatinder Bhagat son of Lal Chand Bhagat of Rathyana, R.S Pura, Jammu who was involved in Case FIR no. 164/2011 u/s 279/337/304-A RPC of P/S Banihal and absconding since then was nabbed. Despite efforts made by the Police to arrest the accused, he could not be traced out. During course of search information was developed regarding the presence of said absconder in Jammu area. A team was sent to Jammu to arrest the absconder. The team finally nabbed the absconder Jatinder from Jammu and brought him to Police Station Banihal where he was produced before the Court of Law. |
