Soz promises to facilitate pilgrims visit to PoK

Nowshera, Dec 25: President JKPCC Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP said today the Sikh Pilgrims and other people interested to visit their Shrines in POK should be allowed to cross over through the established routs on LOC like Chakan-Da-Bagh, Poonch Rawalakote etc. Addressing a huge congregations of Sikh Devotees who had assembled at Nonial-Nowshera (Rajouri) in connection with 69th Death Anniversary of Bawa Sunder Singh Prof. Soz responded to the demand of the Sikh community for facilitation for their travel to POK to the shrine of Bawa Sunder Singh at Ali-Beig in POK and said that he would take up the matter with Union Foreign Affairs Minister Shri Salman Khursheed very immediately. He also assured the gathering that their demand for promotion of Punjabi language and upgrading of schools would be taken up on priority with state government. He also assured to take up their demand pertaining of holding travels in the area with regard to control of line (LOC) and actual line of control (ALC) would be taken up at the appropriate level. Prof. Soz paid obeisance at Gurudawara Nonial and was presented a saropa by the District Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee.
Earlier, addressing a large gathering of public at Dak Banglow Nowshera in which number of Sarpanchs,Panchs and leaders and workers of the Congress party were present, PCC Chief said the problems of people of border area, LOC and refugees are transparent and he was sure that these problems will be resolved soon . He also assured the Sarpanchs and Panchs that they would be paid honorarium and insurance cover as early as possible.
The meeting was also addressed by Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma, Vice Chaiman OBC Kuldip Raj Verma, Ch. Sain Rashid, S.Manjit Singh, Iqbal Malik, President INTUC Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ashwani Puri, Ravi Singh Salathia, Narinder Gupta, Sanjay Sawhney, Harbans Lal Bakshi, Vinod Mahajan, Sub. Gian Chand and others. Several prominent leaders from other parties also joined congress. Shri Som Nath, a prominent Dalit leader of Nowshera who had also contested last assembly elections from Samajwadi party and prominent Mahila leader from Mendhar Parveen Sarwar Khan, Chander Mohan, Sarwan Dass of Nowshera from BSP also joined congress party.
