Crime Branch books fraudsters/ cheaters including Revenue officials

Jammu, Dec 25: Crime Branch, Jammu have registered a case FIR No.32/2012 u/s 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC r/w Section 5(2) P.C Act Svt. 2006 against Jai Kumar, the then Girdawar Qanoongo, now Asst. Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu, Roshan Lal, Patwari, Parmanand S/o Agya Ram, Ramesh Chander S/o Daulat Ram, Bittu S/o Shanker Dass (adopted son of Parmanand), Bihari Lal S/o Shanker Dass and Phumani S/o Shanker Dass, all residents of Kote, Tehsil & District Jammu and officials of the Revenue Department, for indulging in cheating and grabbing the land of complainant by resorting to fraudulent means.
A written complaint filed by the complainant Joginder Singh S/o Late Khakhru R/o Village Kote, Tehsil & District Jammu with the Ld. Ist Additional Munsiff (Forest) Jammu was received in Crime Branch, Jammu wherein the complainant had alleged that the accused persons Parmanand S/o Agya Ram, Ramesh Chander S/o Daulat Ram, Bittu S/o Shanker Dass (adopted son of Parmanand), Bihari Lal S/o Shanker Dass and Phumani S/o Shanker Dass, all residents of Kote, Tehsil & District Jammu in connivance with the revenue officials Jai Kumar, the then Girdawar Qanoongo, now Asstt. Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Roshan Lal, Patwari manipulated the revenue records in order to grab the land and debar the complainant and his family from rightful possession of the land in terms of Girdawri of 1971.
On receipt of this complaint a PV was initiated and during the course of enquiry, it was found that tampering of the revenue record (Parat Sarkar) and subsequent correction in Parat Patwar was affected by the then Girdawar Qanoongo Jai Kumar in connivance with Roshan Lal, Patwari and other revenue officials to dislodge the complainant from his proprietary land in order to give benefit to the other accused persons by sheer misuse of their official position for extraneous considerations. On this the instant case has been registered and investigation of the case is in progress
