| LC elections exposed NC-BJP tactical understanding: PDP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that tactical understanding between ruling National Conference and BJP was exposed in the recently held elections of the four of seats of Legislative Council from the quota of the Panchayats.Addressing a function to thank members of Panchayats of Rajouri district for supporting PDP candidates in the Legislative Council elections, general secretary of PDP Thakur Balbir said that National Conference which was earlier part of the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is still have undeclared alliance with the BJP. He mentioned that to indirectly support NC candidates BJP had deliberately fielded weak candidates in the Legislative Council elections. He further pointed out that NC candidate has got more from the constituencies being represented by the BJP MLAs which is a clear indication that NC and BJP still have tactical understanding. Thakur Balbir Singh further added that Congress and NC had contested Legislative Council elections in coalition but NC candidate has got more votes in the areas where BJP has strong following which reflects that despite running a coalition with Congress , the NC leadership still enjoying support and confidence of the BJP. Speaking on the occasion, party leader Ved Mahajan quoted recent reports in a section of media which suggested that NC leadership has played a prominent role in the appointment of new BJP state president. "NC has not only a undeclared alliance with BJP but the NC leadership is also interfering in the day today affairs of the BJP", he said and added that NC and BJP leadership supporting each other to keep a check on Congress. Other speakers while speaking on the occasion highlighted achievements of previous government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and said that it was result of the good governance of the previous PDP led coalition that there was realization among all sections of the society only PDP has the vision and commitment to address their aspirations. |
