| Delhi gang-rape incident shocking: NPSU | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25: National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) State President Partap Singh Jamwal Tuesday said that recent gang rape incident in New Delhi was shocking and condemnable. "It has angered the people throughout the country and for this issue whole India is supportive to the rape victims. It has not only happened in Delhi but J&K is not free from such incidents. There are cases in J&K which are pending for decision," Jamwal said in a statement. He alleged that the culprits involved in such crimes are set free. "The culprits are let off because of the support of the politicians and the trials held for these cases take so long due to which victims suffer." Jamwal said that the protests against Delhi gang rape case throughout India for demanding a strong law are justified. He demanded that the state government should organize an all party meet and start call assembly session to amendment the law. Jamwal said that the MLAs of J&K should rise above party politics and break their silence on seeing the increase in number of such crimes. He warned that if politicians maintain silence, students will continue their protest and MLAs will have to face the anger of students. Others who were present on the occasion included Mohammad Sheekel, Karan Singh, Deepak Raj Panday and Sanjay Sharma. |
