Kumhar Biradari holds Nari Samelan

Jammu, Dec 25: A Nari Samelan was organized by the Women of the Kumhar Biradari under the chairmanship of Parvesh Kumari, All J&K State Women President, at Sant Shari Gora Ji Maharaj Temple, Near General Bus Stand, Jammu. A large number of women, students and children of the community across the state attended the Nari Samelan. Number of elderly women and young girl students addressed the gathering and expressed their views regarding the role of women in the society and have also thrown light on the various problems which are being faced by the women folk at the hands of this man dominating society and by way of extending their views have also maintained the power of women.
This function was attended by Asstt. Director, Social Welfare Department, Jammu on behalf of Minister Social Welfare Department, J&K Government. A memorandum regarding the problems being faced by the community has been submitted to Hon'ble Minister Social Welfare Department through Asstt. Director, Jammu. The memorandum included various demands such as grant of pre-metric and post-metric scholarships to the students of OBC community on the pattern of SC/ST students, issuance of OBC certificate instead of OSC, provision of loans to the women community on subsidized rates, inclusion of women in women development corporation and in SC/ST/OBC corporation from this community which has not been granted to this community till date.
The progamme was also addressed by the Prajapati (Kumhar) Sabha State President, Ayodhya Kumar Manawa. He expressed his anguish and resentment over the apathetic attitude of the coalition government towards backward classes. Others who spoke on the occasion included Des Raj Tyagi, Chairman Judiciary Cell, Jeet Singh Sangotra, Senior Vice President, Master Darshan Lal spokesman, Madan Lal Baldotra, Punnu Ram, Faqir Chand Satia, Amar Chand, Manju Bala, Darshana Kumari, Ajay Kumar, G.R. Dafarra. They demanded justice for OBCs from the Chief Minister.
