| Alleged Encroachment of 92 Kanals of State Land by MP | | DB expresses displeasure for non compliance of court orders | | early times report
Jammu, Dec 26 (JNF): In the much publicized Public Interest Litigation filed by Prof SK Bhalla highlighting organized land grabbing by certain police officers/ politicians/bureaucrats in connivance with land mafia/under world in various parts of Jammu/Samba Districts, A Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi after hearing Adv SS Ahmed appearing for the PIL whereas Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra appearing for the state took serious notice for not comply with court orders and observed that the order December 18, 2012 has not been complied with which requires the explanation as to why the recommendation April 24, 2006 made by the commissioner of VOJ J&K has been kept under the wrap. Upon this Sr. AAG Mr. Gagan Basotra requested for sometime to do the needful, upon this Division Bench granted time till January 1, 2013 with the direction that record shall also be produced on the next date of hearing.
The petitioner has prayed that the state land measuring 92 Kanals and Six Marlas under the illegal occupation of Ch. Lal Singh be restored to the State and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister be directed to file an ATR in the matter to apprise the Court about the steps initiated for retrieving the said land after the Vigilance Commissioner submitted his report in April, 2006. |
