| Efforts to revive militancy are on in valley: IG CRPF | | | early times report Anantnag, Dec 26: Refering to the recent Kulgam and Sopore encounters, Inspector General (IG) of CRPF, S S Sandhu today said that the recent anti-militancy incidents show that some vested interest eleents are hell bent to revive the militancy on in valley. He however accredited locals for their help and said the anti insurgency operations in Sopore and Kulgam were based on synergy between public and intelligence information. IG CRPF, during his visit to Mattan in South Kashmir to review the latest security situation, told to media persons that aftermath recent encounters some posters appeared in Sopore asking the people not to collect donations for the families whose houses were damaged in the encounter last week and termed it as propaganda by militants and their sympathizers. Giving credit to public for Kulgam and Sopore encounters, Inspector General of CRPF, Sandhu said that the recent anti-militancy operations in Sopore and Kulgam were based on coordination between public and intelligence services. He added that the posters pasted by the militants in Sopore were only propaganda by the militants. "The content of the posters is far from fact. The circulation of such posters is just a propaganda launched by the militants and their sympathizers in the in the area," IG said. |
