| Panun Kashmir calls controversy on Afzal Guru's hanging as unnecessary | | | early times report Jammu, Feb 13: The Political Affairs Committee of Panun Kashmir held an urgent meeting to consider its responses to the emerging political scenario. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ashwani Kumar Chru-ngoo, President, Panun Ka-shmir. Ashwani Kumar Chru-ngoo, President, Panun Kashmir said that Panun Kashmir takes serious exception to the unnecessary and unwarranted discourse on the issue of execution of the Parliament attack accused Afzal Guru. It is clear that the execution was effected as a consequence of the court verdict, yet attempts are being made to politicize the whole issue. Law of the land and rule of law must prevail in all situations irrespective of the political and vote bank considerations. In matters relating to terror, affecting national peace and security, all political parties and shades of opinion must close their ranks and reflect a sense of national unity. Unfortunately, expressions of divergence of opinion in the matter and unnecessary public debate have the potential to create law and order situation. At a time when inimical forces across the border are looking for an opportunity to ferment trouble in Kashmir, the government must deal with the situation in a firm manner and desist from expressions that can incite and instigate people or create confusion. Virender Raina, Spokes-person-PK said that Panun Kashmir had expressed its serious reservations over the policy of the Gover-nment of India in facilitating the sojourns of secessionist leaders of Kashmir to Pakistan for the last several years. The visits to Pakistan have been used by these leaders to create frenzy against India and to take instructions to create trouble in Kashmir. Panun Kashmir, earlier also, expressed its disgust at the literal outsourcing of the conduct of GOI's Kashmir policy to the secessionist elements. This time Yasin Malik's public show of solidarity in Islamabad with the cause of Afzal Guru and an open association with the mastermind of Mumbai attack Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan is a brazen defiance to the nation and its campaign against terror. It is also a challenge to the national will to fight terror and the resolve to bring to justice the culprits of 26/11. Kashmir Pandits being the prime victims of terrorism in Kashmir have the responsibility to caution the nation about the multifaceted threats emerging from the current situation. |
