| Various social, political organisations hold protest | | Centre under attack for granting visa to Malik | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 13 : UPA Government at Centre led by Dr Manmohan Singh has come under a scathing attack from various organizations in the state for issuing visa and passport to Yasin Malik for visiting Pakistan where he held the dais with dreaded Lashkar-e-Toiba chief and mastermind of Mumbai blast Hafiz Saeed condemn the hanging of Afzal Guru involved in Parliament attack in New Delhi. Various political and social organizations held the protest demonstrations here today in which the role of Congress led UPA Government was strongly critised. The protestors demanded that Malik be arrested soon after he lands in India. The demonstrations were held by BJYM, Shiv Sena, Dogra Front and Shiv Sena and Ram Sena who besides strongly condemning Mr Malik also took the UPA Government to task. They said that terrorists from state are using Pakistan soil for anti India conspiracy and Central Government has failed to contain Pakistan from aiding and abetting terrorist against India from its soil. BJYM which held a strong demonstration at press Club here under the chairmanship of its state president, Ravinder Raina torched the effigy of UPA Government at Press Club here. The protestors raising slogans against the UPA Government and Malik demanded that he be arrested after landing fin India on return from Pakistan. Criticising the role of UPA Government the BJYM said Yasin Malik who was involved in killing of four Indian Air Force Officers during the initial days of militancy in 1989 and also torture to Sarla Bhat a Kashmiri Hindu lady who was later cut into pieces on a band saw now claims himself to be a moderate freedom fighter while his hands are soaked in the blood of many innocent Kashmiris. Mr Raina said the UPA Government was responsible of giving him passport to visit Pakistan where he shared dais with another dreaded terrorist and joined anti India tirade. He said what locus standi Congress has in criticising the BJP for freeing dreaded terrorists during the NDA rule and airlifting them to Kabul when the nation was in crisis due to the hijacking of the Indian airlines plane with 262 passengers. The Government at that time released the terrorists to safeguard the lives of innocent Indians but there were no compulsions for the UPA who gave visa and passport to Malik. BJYM said that once again conspiracy is being hatched in Pakistan to revive terrorism in J&K and create a 2010 type stone pelting situation in Kashmir. He said Malik and his JKLF was responsible for killing of thousands of innocent people in Valley and exodus of nationalist people from there. Ram Sena while expressing its concern over the sharing of dais by Malik with dreaded Lashkar-e-chief demanded stern action against him. Ram Sena chief Rajiv Mahajan demanded his passport be impounded and case under treason be registered against him. Terming sharing of stage by Yasin Malik with Saeed Hafiz of LeT in Islamabad a matter of serious concern, All J&K Movement for peace and Justice took the Union Government to task for this all. The Movement in its meeting while condemning Mr Malik also termed the role of Union Government totally unjustified who issued passport to him for visiting Pakistan. Another procession was taken out by Dogra Front and Shiv Sena in the city in which the Central Government was severely criticized for issuing passport and visa to Malik who indulged in anti India tirade on Pak soil by sharing dais. The Sena said Union Government and Home Minister of India are answerable before people for their act. Sena chief, Ashok Gupta demanded strong action against the people who are living in India are associated with terrorists across the border. Gupta demanded immediate action against the Malik. |
